Tulo Hamkens lives in Berlin and a small northern city. After school, she moved to Cairo where she learned fluent Arabic and experienced the revolution. In addition to the fascination of men, feminism and life in Cairo shape her work. The experimental documentary short film Alo is the result of her amicable collaboration owith its anonymous protagonist. She allows an insight into her work at an Arabic sex hotline and reveals a glimpse into her personal life.
